Pop stars, dancers and actors have given up a fast-paced city life to move to the countryside to run their own farm with livestock and home produce.
Many high-profile names in show business and television lead hectic lives full of early calls, constant drives and late nights.
To compensate for the stress of all the attention, some celebrities have decided to make the countryside their home and retreat to a farm.
Away from the red carpet, these celebrities live a very different life that most people may not be aware of.
1. Flavia Kakache and Jimi Mistri
After meeting as partners on Dancing with the Stars in 2010, actor Jimi Mistri and professional dancer Flavia Kakache decided to uproot their lives from Guildford and move to the North Devon countryside.
The couple now run their own farm and have documented their adventures on an Instagram account called Our Life in the Barn.
They share videos and photos of their livestock and produce such as rams, chickens and sheep.
The couple also plan to open their own farm shop and guesthouse in the near future.
2. Calvin Fletcher,
The former Emmerdale actor, car racer and Dancing with the Stars winner has moved to a farm on the edge of the Peak District National Park in 2021.
Kelvin Fletcher lives on the 120-acre property with his wife Liz Marland and their two children, five-year-old Marnie and three-year-old Milo.
The family recently announced the birth of twin boys.
After twenty years as farmer Andy Sugden on the TV series, Calvin decided to make the move to try it for real, despite having no farming experience whatsoever.
The family showed fans how they adapted to life on the farm in the BBC One show Calvin’s Big Farming Adventure.
3. Calvin Harris
International Scottish DJ-producer Calvin Harris has sold his two multi-million dollar mansions in Los Angeles in 2020 to enjoy rural life on a 138-acre Spanish farm.
He bought Terra Masia in Ibiza and now helps look after cattle and grow organic vegetables.

Calvin photographed produce grown on his farm, such as carrots and oranges.
The land also produces wine and eggs and is said to be the largest organic farm on the island.
Terra Masia is also the venue for weddings and special events.
4. Martin Clunes
Doc Martin actor Martin Clunes regularly travels the world to present documentaries, recently reviewing his animal travel stories in Martin Clunes: My Travels and Other Animals.
When not filming, he spends time on his farm in Dorset with his wife Philippa.
They bought Beaminster Farm in 2017 and look after horses, dogs, sheep, chickens, Shetland ponies and 50 dexterous cattle.
In an interview with Saga, Martin said: “I love the space and the way things are constantly changing with the seasons. It keeps me in touch with real life.”
He added that it’s “a great way to disconnect from the world”.
5. The Hadid family
Bella and Gigi Hadid’s mother, Yolanda, owns a $4 million ranch in New Hope, Pennsylvania.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star’s model daughters are isolated on the 32-acre farm during quarantine with former boyband star Zayn Malik.
The sprawling estate has its own stable for the horse-loving family and a botanical garden where Yolanda creates essential oils and a line of her own gin.
They also have livestock, including Scottish mountain cattle, chickens, sheep and goats.

The Countryfile presenter moved to an organic sheep farm in Durham Dales to help his parents after his mum was injured in a serious accident.
Matt, his wife Nicola and their two children documented the experience on the Channel 4 series Matt Baker: Our Farm in the Valleys.
The family also have their own small farm in Chilterns, Hertfordshire, where they have their own sheep, donkeys, chickens and dogs.
7. Martha Stewart
Celebrity chef Martha Stewart owns her own 156-acre farm in Katonah, New York.
She bought the farm in 2000 for $15.2 million and named it Cantitoe Corners; previously it was called Sycamore Farms.
She slowly restored and rebuilt the estate, adding new properties and restoring existing ones to the land.
The Martha Moments blog explains that the land is more like “a small village with a row of houses and outbuildings scattered over a vast area.
It’s every chef’s dream, as Martha can use her own vegetables, eggs, fruit and milk in her recipes.
8. Jason Gardiner
The former Dancing on Ice judge has given up the farming life and moved from London to an organic farm in Portugal.
Jason, 46, was once named “Mr Nastia” on the ITV dance competition , and retired from the role in 2019.
During his isolation, a neighbour provided him with a plot, which allowed him to find a new love of nature.
He now describes himself as a “nomadic permaculture designer” who travels around urging people to be more sustainable.
In an Instagram post, Jason wrote: “Getting back to basics, where you don’t have to rely on a predatory supply chain for your energy, is something we should all seriously consider.”
9. Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban
Actress Nicole Kidman and her husband Keith Urban own a $4.5 million working farm in Boonja Hill, Australia, which they bought in 2008.
The 111-acre property has an orchard of fresh fruit and a herd of black Angus cows, six alpacas and chickens.
In 2015, Nicole told Vogue magazine that she loves the “simplicity, air, peace” of her farm life.
Although it’s not the couple’s only A-list property, they are said to spend six months on the farm.
10. Elizabeth Hurley
Actress and model Elizabeth Hurley bought a 400-acre organic farm in Gloucestershire in 2003.
The 56-year-old woman left the chaos of London with her son Damian and then-husband Arun Nayar.
The farm housed sheep, chickens and other animals.
Elizabeth eventually sold the farm in 2015 for £9 million and moved closer to the Forest of Dean.
11. Russell Crowe
Actor Russell Crowe owns a 400-hectare farm in New South Wales, Australia.
The site burned down in November 2019 and Russell decided to skip the Golden Globe Awards to help his neighbours fight the blaze.

JB Gill
JLS pop star JB Gill has moved his wife Chloe and two children to an 11-acre farm in Kent County where animals such as turkeys and chickens live.
He told the BBC he had always wanted to get away from the bright lights of fame.
